Blanchard Valley Surgical Specialists' surgeons and staff are committed to providing outstanding surgical care from presentation to full recovery. The physicians in the group are dedicated to keeping up with the latest advancements in surgical care to improve the outcomes and the lives of their patients. The surgeons in the practice strive to provide the best surgical care through a comprehensive preoperative evaluation, discussion of treatment options with patients and family, explanation of procedures, reviewing risks and benefits, personally following patients during their hospitalization, and being available if they are needed after discharge.

The ultimate goal of the practice is to make patients as comfortable as possible, lessen their stress, respond to their needs, and make their surgeries and recoveries uneventful, We want patients to be well informed and active in making treatment decisions.

Our surgeons provide a wide range of surgical procedures:

Colon and Rectal Surgery
Colorectal surgery includes polyp removal, colorectal cancer removal, diverticular disease surgery, and surgical treatment for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's disease, perianal fistula and fissure treatment, hemorrhoid procedures, as well as rectal and mucosal prolapse surgeries.

Endoscopic Surgery
Endoscopic surgery includes colonoscopy and EGD (esophagogastroduodenoscopy)

Hernia Surgery
Hernia surgery including incisional hernias, umbilical hernias, inguinal or femoral (groin area) hernias, Hiatal/diaphragmatic hernias. Minimally invasive techniques are used for these hernia repairs when possible.

Gastrointestinal surgery

G. I. Surgical procedures include stomach surgery, small bowel surgery, gallbladder surgery, spleen surgery, some liver procedures, appendectomies, in addition to colon and rectal surgery as mentioned above. Minimally invasive surgery is used in many of these procedures.

Breast Surgery
Breast procedures include biopsies, lumpectomies, mastectomies (breast removal), Lymph node removal (sentinel lymph node).

Skin Diseases
Removal of skin lesions, benign moles, skin cancers including melanoma, fatty tumors removal, pilonidal cyst removal etc... Some of these could be done in office under local.

Thyroid Surgery

Removal of a thyroid lobe or complete thyroid removal from benign or malignant diseases.

Vascular Access
Vascular port placement fom chemotherapy.

Robotic Surgery (Da Vinci)

Laparoscopic surgery also referred to as minimally invasive surgery describes the performance of surgical procedures with the assistance of a video camera and several thin instruments.
